Movie Review: "Turbo"

Yesterday I watched a good movie. The title is Turbo. 

This movie was produced by DreamWorks Animation and was distributed by 20th Century Fox. This movie was released on July 2013. This movie was released in 2013 but I just watched in 2014! Maybe I need to be more up to date with the newest movie. I watched it on my laptop by the way. I got this movie from my friend. 

The story of this movie is started when a snail named Theo wants to be a racer. His dream to be a racer is refused by his brother, Chet. Although his brother doesn't believe that he can reach his dream, he still tries his best by practicing every day. Theo and his brother Chet work in a garden. They pick tomatoes and divide them into the ripe tomatoes and the overripe ones. While choosing the overripe tomatoes, Theo keeps practicing. He ended up laughed by his friends in the garden. Chet still tries to make Theo gives up for his dream. He tries to tell Theo that they are just snail that cannot run fast, but Theo doesn't hear him. Theo believes what his favorite racer, Guy Gagne says that no dream is too big, and no dreamer too small. He almost lost his self-confidence when he almost dies by a mower. After that, he walks on the road sadly. By an accident, he gets a power from a car. This power makes him runs fast. He realizes that his power can help him to be a racer. He tells his brother that he believes of becoming a good racer. However, Chet still refuses his idea. Suddenly, a crow hunts Chet, but Theo saves his life. From this accident they come to a city. When they are still arguing each other, a man comes and puts them into a can. 

This man, named Tito puts them into a race with the other snails. Theo surprises them by winning the race with extra fast speed. After that race he changes his name into Turbo. Although he has won the race, Chet still wants to go home with Theo, but Theo refuses that idea. He is sure that city is a right place to make his dream comes true. 

Tito also has a brother named Angelo. Tito tells his brother that he finds a snail that can run fast. He knows that Turbo will make them succeed. His brother says that it's nonsense. He tells Tito to goes back selling Taco. Tito still believes Turbo and treats him as a beloved snail. He makes a plan with Turbo. His plan is to make his Taco stall and Starlight Plaza is full of customers. Finally, they find a plan that will make them succeed. The plan is by signing up Turbo into Indy 500. It is a race for the racer around the world. Guy Gagne, Turbo's favorite racer also joins this race. 

The only problem for Tito is the registration fee. He asks it to his brother but he doesn't give him. He doesn't give up. He tries to get money from his friends in Starlight Plaza. His friends have the same decision with his brother. They don't give Tito money for the registration fee. Turbo and his snail-friends make the customers some to Starlight Plaza by a plan. They deflate the tires of the tour bus and make the customers walk down from the bus into Starlight Plaza. Turbo shows off his talent to the customers and makes them dazzled by his speed. After that, Tito's friends believe him and gather their money to register Turbo into the race. Tito also gets some money by stealing his brother's savings. Tito and his Starlight Plaza's friends finally come to Indianapolis. Tito registers his snail, Turbo to join the race but he gets rejected by the committees. 

A kid shares a video of Turbo running in the racing track using social media. Many people see that video and it becomes popular. At first the CEO of IndyCar refuses to let Turbo joins the race, but finally he lets him joins after hearing the enthusiasm of many people. Turbo and the team are so happy hearing the announcement. A night before the racing day, Guy Gagne, Turbo's favorite racer, says some words which make Turbo loses his self-confidence. At that night, Turbo realizes that Guy is different with what he sees on the TV. In the racing day, Turbo seems not focus.

At first, he is on the last place and seems struggling. He has to compete with big-sized cars. In the pit stop, his snail friends help him to make him gets focus to the race. It makes him gets his self-confidence back. Not too long after that, Guy hits his car to Turbo in purpose. He thinks that he will feel so ashamed if he loses to a snail. Turbo almost lose his power, but he keeps going. He doesn't want to give up.  Guy who doesn't want to lose keeps doing the unfair ways to harm Turbo. His plan is not working and finally his car crashes with other cars. Turbo is also in the car car-crashes accident. His shell is perforated because of the accident. At that time, Turbo feels that he has lost and doesn't want to continue the race. Fortunately, his brother, Chet takes the liberty to goes down to the racing track. Chet gives Turbo spirit to finish the race. Turbo tries to finish the race, but Guy still wants to win and disturbs Turbo. 

With a great effort, finally Turbo can win the race. All people give applause to him. After Turbo wins this race, Tito's brother, Angelo believes in Tito and Turbo. He treats his customers with free tacos. As expected before, after registering and winning Indy 500, Starlight plaza is full of customers. They want to see Turbo as the first snail racer. After the Indy 500 race, Turbo still becomes a racer. Turbo's brother, Chet now believes in Turbo. Tito and his friends make a special racing track for Turbo and his friends. They take a race together.
